HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing) invited me to perform at their sponsored social hour at the Road Atlanta Chalet. This weekend was The Mitty, with classic Nissan racecars as the headline marque.
This was my first time visiting the racetrack in Braselton, GA. Immediately upon checking in at the infield gate I could hear the roar of cars zipping around the track. There was a race going on RIGHT NOW!
The Chalet was right on the main straightaway. We had a front row seat to all the racing action.
I had a stage arranged at the front of the pavilion to setup on. After I was finished I enjoyed the last part of the race waiting for our guests to arrive. Once the winner was awarded, the announcer called everyone to gather at the Chalet for an evening of food and drink. Showtime!
Once we started going the host asked me how we could do a charity auction. The item up for bid was a pie in the face for a member of the HSR crew.
Everyone was such good sports with the whole event. Luckily I survived the pie smash with only a few crumbs on my table.
I continued the evening with more classic 80s rock and Southern Rock hits. Towards the end I played some requests from the guests, including Avicii. Overall the evening was a huge success. I can't wait for the next one!
